Oct. 9, 2025 - Temp Testing Paused

Due to the recent influx of temp tests and new dogs we have experienced in the past few months, we will be postponing any new non-client temp tests starting October 29th. Any currently scheduled temperament tests before October 29th will be honored.

We would like to integrate our new dogs into daycare and have everyone be comfortable before we add more new dogs. Please check in during December to schedule a temp test if you are interested in daycare for your dog. We appreciate your understanding and patience with us as we adjust to everything. If you have any questions, feel free to call us.

Sept 30, 2024 - Emergency Services

Starting Monday, September 30th, Den Herder Veterinary Hospital will be expanding their services to include *urgent care*! This new service is designed to address unexpected and urgent needs and provide prompt, quality care when you need it most. The hours of the urgent care services are from *4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday*, and on *Saturdays from 10:00 AM to4:00 PM.  *This is a step in the right direction for a much-needed service in this community and we are pleased to help support this. As part of these changes and to support the growth of the urgent care hours, we will be discontinuing our 24/7 emergency on-call service. However, we want to assure you that our commitment to your pets’ well-being remains steadfast.  Dr Ben and Dr Colleen will continue to offer our*tele-triage consult service *until 11 pm to help determine if your pet needs to seek further care at one of the out of town 24 hour care facilities, but they will no longer be coming in for in person Emergency after hours visits. After 11 pm, you will still have access to our after-hours answering service, who will help refer you to the appropriate 24 hours emergency hospital.Our goal with these changes is to help our team with the appropriate work/life balance that we all seek, while still offering the best care possible during business hours. Hopefully, the goal is to expand the urgent care to a full 24/7 emergency facility to better serve our community with the appropriate staffing and resources needed to care for your pets with the highest level of compassion and medical excellence.
