Healing with Pet Laser Therapy

At Companion Animal Clinic & Pet Resort, your pet’s comfort is very important to us. We never want your pet to be in pain, and we continuously look for new treatments and techniques to keep your pet comfortable and pain free. One advancement is our state-of-the art therapeutic laser therapy. This safe and effective treatment allows us to treat pets that are experiencing pain and allows them to gain their zest for life once again.

Laser Therapy emits a high intensity light beam to painlessly target specific areas of the body where your pet may be experiencing pain. Our veterinarians will work closely with you and your pet to determine the source of pain and decide if laser therapy will help treat the condition.

How Laser Therapy Works

Laser therapy is a drug-free and completely painless treatment option. Laser therapy emits light energy via a beam that penetrates outer tissues and muscle. The light penetrates to cellular level causing the cell to reproduce which decreases pain and promotes healing. Our veterinary technicians will gently massage the area needing treatment with a handheld device that will emit the beam of light. Your pet will experience a warm feeling and usually finds laser therapy relaxing and soothing.

We have experienced the following conditions have been effectively treated with Laser Therapy.

  • Arthritis

  • Tendonitis

  • Wounds

  • Post-Surgical Swelling

  • Inflamed Ears

  • Lick Granuloma

  • Hip Dysplasia

  • Disc Disease

  • Lameness

  • Sinusitis

Determining if Laser Therapy is right for your pet?

Our veterinarians will begin with a comprehensive exam that will help us determine the source of pain your pet is experiencing. Whether the pain is stemming from an acute injury, surgery, chronic disease or arthritis, we have found laser therapy to be extremely helpful particularly when combined with other treatment modalities. Please let us know if you have questions or would like to learn more about how laser therapy could help your pet with pain relief. Give us a call at 319-277-2354 today or click the button below.
