Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Ben Nemmers
Ben was born in Okinawa, Japan and raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Since he was young, he always thought about being a veterinarian. He received a B.S. in Zoology at North Dakota State University, where he competed on the men's basketball team on an athletic scholarship. Dr. Nemmers then attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2009. He has an interest in Small Animal Surgery and Dermatology.

Dr. Colleen Nemmers
Colleen was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and competed in Track & Field at the University of La Salle in Philadelphia. She attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2009. Her interests include managing medical cases such as diabetes, thyroid disease and other endocrine conditions.

Dr. Amanda Deutsch
Amanda's passion for animals started at a young age in Wyoming caring for ducks and rabbits. She completed her B.S. in Biology at Iowa State University and subsequently moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for her first two years of the ISU Veterinary Medicine program. She then graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2018. Amanda’s main interests in vet medicine are surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. Outside of work she enjoys running, biking, water/snow skiing,and caring for her cat Herbert Lewis.

Kari is a Waterloo native where she lives currently with her husband & 2 kids. She has 2 dogs, a cat, and a bearded dragon. Kari is one of our Vet Techs and has also earned the position of Staff Supervisor. Kari’s favorite part of being a Vet Tech is drawing blood & helping sick animals feel better.

Brooke was born and raised in the Des Moines area. She now lives in Traer, IA with her husband, 3 kids and their 1 dog. She has always been an animal lover. She is very excited to assist you at the front desk!

Gaby graduated high school from Waverly, Iowa and has lived in Cedar Falls for about 5 years. After being a flight attendant she realized her real passion belonged with animals! Her pup Pi’erre keeps her busy and on her toes!

Megan was born and raised in Waterloo. She graduated from Des Moines Area Community College and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves working with animals and says assisting with surgeries is her favorite part. She currently lives in Cedar Falls with her husband, Jon and two dogs Zoey, a beagle and Raven, a black lab.

Leanna was raised in Alta Vista, Iowa and later moved to New Hampton where she currently lives. She graduated from Rochester Community and Technical College and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves animals and has always wanted to work with them. She has two dogs, Blu and Sarge.

Mindi was raised in Charles City, Iowa. After graduating high school, she attended Hawkeye
Community College where she earned her degree in the Veterinary Assistant program. She
enjoys spending her time with her two dogs and two cats. She also enjoys fostering kittens in
her free time.

Erica was born and raised in Waterloo IA. She has been an animal lover her whole life and has found a career she is passionate about! She has been grooming since 2012 and absolutely loves what she does. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her three cats, three dogs, and her bearded dragon.

Danae was born and raised in Waterloo, IA. She grew up wanting to be a vet, but stumbled upon grooming in 2013 and fell in love. She is passionate about helping animals look and feel their best. When she is not grooming, she loves spending time with her and her husband's families. Her house is full of love with their dog, Riley and their cat, Jasper.

Samie
Samie grew up in McCallsburg, Iowa. Samie has a fish, a turtle, two guinea pigs, three cats, and a dog. In Samie’s freetime, she enjoys hanging out with her kids and spending time outside. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you she is the Cedar Valley’s best cat groomer!

Cedar Falls, Iowa is Jon’s hometown. He has two dogs named Artoo and Stranger, and two cats named Djembe and Chip. He loves traveling to music events all over the Midwest. At work, he is a master of water, but at home he enjoys practicing elaborate fire performances.

oversee the lobby, you can find Cyrus sporting new and exciting outfits each time you come to visit.

Herbert is one of our resident clinic cats. He enjoys roaming the clinic and keeping everyone in line. Though he enjoys getting into trouble, he still finds plenty of time to snuggle up with our
clinic staff.
