Emergency Veterinary Care Services

As a pet owner, you want to be sure that your beloved furry friend is happy and healthy. Unfortunately, medical emergencies may arise that require you to obtain fast emergency veterinary care services. Our Cedar Falls Waterloo veterinarian office does provide these services, but it’s important that you know how to use them the right way so that your pet can get the help they need as soon as possible. Whenever your pet is experiencing a medical emergency during office hours, please contact our Cedar Falls Waterloo veterinarian's office first by calling us at 319-277-2354. If a medical emergency arises outside of our normal office hours, please call that main number and speak to our answering service. Please be sure that you are as detailed as possible and make sure you leave your name, your pet’s name, and the nature of the emergency. We will answer emergency calls for all of our new and existing clients.

It's important to know that there is a doctor always on call for emergency veterinary care services to help our current clients in good standing. If your pet does need medical care outside of our regular office hours, there will be an additional emergency charge. If the emergency can be handled at our clinic, your pet will receive care there. If the situation requires more intense care, we’ll coordinate your pet’s referral to the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center, a critical care facility located in Cedar Rapids. Our other critical care facility referrals include the Iowa Veterinary Referral Center in Des Moines, and the Iowa State Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital in Ames.
